The Tongue Exercise

I noticed in the tongue exercise video that Ken seems to close his mouth completely around the tongue and almost does a humming sound nasally. I've tried to look it up and can't find anything that really specifies whether that's how it is done. Are you suppose to seal your lips around the tongue and go nasal for this exercise?

Rather, use it to maintain an open throat with a good supported sound. With this exercise, you'll get lots of sensory feedback on how resonant your sound is ... the vibrations in chest and front of face.

So the tongue exercise, as does humming, is an exercise in which zero air exits through the mouth, and 100% of the air exits at the nose. So there IS engagement of the nasopharnyx. But you will also feel vibrations in your teeth, your sinuses, the front of your face, as well as the nose. Opening the back of the throat in the shape of a ball is why you have the tongue moved forward, to create more resonant space in the back of the throat, which exits through the nasal port.

I do the tounge ex’s as ken says...is it acceptable to do the other hum (mouth closed)
Thank you.
I hope that it is okay for you that show up in this discussion. I guess that it is better to do the humming exercise while sticking the tongue out because it automatically creates space in the back of the throat and helps you to prevent clogging.
I found a sweet spot when sticking out the tongue a little less than Ken does in his videos.
