Tonsil Removal: Will it have any effect on my voice?

Hello,
I have had frequent bouts of tonsillitis in the past year and my ENT has recommended I get my tonsils removed (at 29 years old). I have continued on with the course despite my tonsils being partially swollen on a permanent basis.
Will this surgery have any effect on my voice upon healing? (positive or negative effects)

I've googled this for you a bit. It is a theme that is discussed by many. Singers are often worried that the voice will be negatively affected by the surgery. Some seems to have had some negative effect and some have had positive effects on their voices. In most cases people seem to report little change in their voice after they recovered from surgery. You can check it out yourself through the links below (and many others that you find if you google. However, I can't guarantee that what is written on those sites is true. You should absolutely talk to your doctor about this).

Not only that but in most all cases, tonsillitis is caused by infection (viral or bacterial).
This often leads to excess mucous and other inhibitors for good vocal health and overall health.
