Proper way to sing phrases and maybe a few tips to help me out

So I was wondering because I saw a few webinars where Ken sings phrases and he says to sing like a ventriloquist how would you recommend singing the lyrics to this song

Glory to God Forever,(Bridge) Take my life and let it be all for you and for your glory

is there vowel modifications that should be present to prevent the chord from being choked?

    Also I have a very raspy voice is this going to affect my progress as a singer because it gives my voice a breathy sound to it.

    Do you have a link to the song?  The notes make a difference.  High notes may require modifications, where lower notes would not.

    How the song is phrased also may make a difference.

    As to your raspy voice, why is your voice raspy?  Are you oversinging?  Too much air can be harmful to your voice over a period of time.
