Singing vowels

Hi everyone! Recently I watched on YouTube Ken's video "How to sing any song" in which Ken said that I need to sing any song with vowels only and eliminate consonants all together. Then he makes an example. And here's my question: if I try to sing song in other language, not english, will (or should) those vowels sound the same? Should I do it like in a "Lah" scale, or in different languages there's different approaches to those vowels?

I'm not entirely sure about this one, but I would say that the safe bet would be to focus in on the vowel sounds that are in the same ballpark and work with those. At least that way you'd still be doing the same (known) mods up high.
