Self Evaluation
We get a lot of good feedback here on the forum. But I’m wondering how people handle self-evaluation. I myself find it hard to hear exactly what the problems are with my songs. Sometimes certain parts just sound “bad” but I don’t know exactly what is wrong or how to fix it. Recently @diego mentioned that the word “folks” sounded a bit flat at 0:56 of my recording but I don’t really hear it. How can I fix things if I can’t hear the problem myself?

Musicians are the same. 80% of the guitar players I see in the bar don't even know how to get a good sound. They plug in, turn up, and crank the distortion pedal, and they sound like crap until someone with more experience comes along and says "you sound like crap", here's how you do it, but if you don't trust the people that are giving you the information......what's the point?
