Gots the pneumonia

Hey all, quick question for those of you in the know. I just purchased the course this weekend and today I ended up in the ER getting treatment and medication for pneumonia. The question I have is are the early lessons safe enough to practice while I'm in recovery, or for something like pneumonia, do you need to sit back and allow for good amount of recovery before even attempting the early lessons?

Thanks!

Louis

I would only do very short warm ups, just to help protect your voice. I wouldn't do them every day it would probably be better to do them every other day. This should help protect your voice but allow you to recover.

P.S. DON'T PUSH YOUR VOICE AT ALL!!!!! If it causes pain at all then STOP!

    Good Morning, @SlaySomething

oh s***, did they prescribe you antibiotics? - If yes, for how long shall you take them? - Do you have a leucocytosis (white blood cells elevated)? - If it is a real pneumonia (bacterial infection) I would like to recommend to you to do only very, very light exercises. I would stay with the Lip Burbles and Tongue exercise only. Do them very, very light.

Thanks you two for the insight. I see in the beginning things with diaphragm work and such. I'm going to guess that I'll probably be ok with that and take it one step at a time. @doc_ramadani , I am on 7 days worth of antibiotics. No blood was drawn. Diagnosis/Treatment is only based on symptoms, physical exam, and x-ray.

    Hi @SlaySomething,

okay, so I would suggest to stay on very light singing for these 7 days. Do the Lip Burbles several times during the day. They will help to liberate mucus. Maybe you can use something like an inhaler (with hot water and menthol) to support your body to heal.

Pnuemonia can have a long recovery time. Take it easy in the mean time. Be well, @SlaySomething

Lip drills maybe😁lol. But seriously, I would give it some time b4 practicing. What’s just as good as practice (imo) is going back and re-watching each video, and really ingrain all of Ken’s concepts, so that they’re rock rock solid. For me, it’s amazing at the stuff I learn and pick up on when rewatching Ken’s videos, videos in which I thought I fully understood. Get well soon brother!
