question on being a tenor

Do you tenors have any tips on choosing a key for tunes like Twinkle twinkle litle star?
Where would you sing it? Higher or lower?
Why this tune? I am doing this as an exercise. Many vocal coaches use this as a beginner exercise.
But I was wondering how the tenors find the best key for such a simple tune.
It has a range from Do-La so it can be sung where our voices are most comfortable singing.
If a melody has a range of one octave I often choose F3-F4. It seems the tenor voice works best in that range.
I was told by a person, who is not a trained singer, that I do not have to sing this high. Too me it is not really high at all. G4 is where the higher notes starts I think. I guess most people think one should sing low but I don't agree.
Any tips?

    Hi @ingenting,

if you are a tenor the range from F3 to F4 should be very good. If it is easy for you to sing it in this range it should be right at your "Tessitura". Listen to your body. If it feels comfortable it should be right.

    My 2 cents,
