I have been looking forward to and dreading this day. Its my first time putting something like this out here in the open forum.

This video shows me singing after about 3 months into the program and also the same song which was only a few days ago, almost a year.

Ive never had vocal lessons before nor any with Ken. My girlfriend sings but not in any trained way and we sing alot together. I practice anywhere from 6 to 9 hours a week and sing karaoke on top of that. Thats all I mainly do it for, Im not in a band or anything, but this course has given me a huge confidence boost and the forum has such an awesome and helpful community.

I feel now that I understand how to use my voice as an instrument, but im still in the beginning stages of knowing how to play it properly.

    Oh, that was wonderful! I was grinning all the way through that. I'm so pleased for you! What a difference all your hard work has made. :)

    The only thing missing from the video was your cute dog sleeping in the background during the "after" segments. :)

    @blondiewales sustaining a natural vibrato is still elusive for me. I think even listening back to the afters there were some notes I held that where just shy of where I'm aiming. Thanks for the feed back🙂

    @wigs great progress mate, Ken talks about continuous phrase singing and you clearly demonstrate the improvements in that area as well as many improvements across the board.

    I think we are very similar experience background doing karaoke never had vocal coach lessons etc. Due to post my 12 month before and after as well been working really hard.

    Agree comments @blondiewales made about being really accurate on extended notes makes a big difference just have to be slightly off it becomes noticeable. Some thing I noticed when doing my current song.

    Well done great progress at 12 month stage.

    @Vocality @doc_ramadani Thanks for the encouragement, I had a different song in mind initially and I was trying to perfect it, but I realised its still probably another year before I can give it justice. This was a lot less polished and I thought about the reason I wanted to put this up. The whole point in the end is just to show what KTVA has done for me and what I can do if I just step up to a mic and sing a song I know. Vibrato is something Ill be actively working towards from now on.

    Wow, big improvement! I'm impressed. That song is really difficult. The singing is more like talking in a lot of it and the rhythm is really wacky.

    I hadn't heard the original so I looked it up and I'm pretty sure he has effects and/or layered vocals when he's singing.

    Good job on a really tough song!
