Home GENERAL SINGING - Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy Forum

The question from a simple listener to singing professionals!

Is it possible to imitate singing(lipsinc) and at the same time strain the neck muscles and vocal cords as with real singing? I noticed that when men take very high notes, a dimple or hollow appears on their neck. Can you, please, explain, as a professionals, what it is and why this appears? Is it possible to imitate this dimple without real singing? Best regards.

The dimple is where the larynx normally is. When we go higher, the larynx tends to rise up. It is possible to replicate this without actually singing.

I'm just curious why you want to replicate this? Is it research for an acting role or something?

No, this is not a research, just curiosity.
