Morning time Crud

I am on a worship team and we start practicing at 7 in the morning On sundays. Every morning i wake up with crud in my chest making it hard to sing in the morning usually by second service it has cleared up .. is there anything i can to do clear that up in the earlier in the morning. I dont smoke.

    you could warm up before you start the first service. you might want to look into things like steam inhaler or neti pot (depending on whether it comes from your lungs or nose).

    have you checked that it is not some treatable condition like an allergy?

    Yes, doing warm-ups as soon as you are able in the morning will be the best way to get your voice cleared-up.

    Your voice will naturally have mucus on the cords from sleeping, and the best possible way to clear that off is to gently sing it off. The earlier, the better, in the case of early morning performances.

    Using a saline spay can also help.
