How to post a song for feedback

i have not been on the forum for about a year now but i still have been working hard on Ken's course. How do i post a cover song for feedback? Sound cloud won't let me post cover songs and facebook or you tube is the same. Thank you

Yeah the copywrite claims are getting out of hand. Some people here just upload their recordings into something like Dropbox or Google Drive and then share the file that way. I've had sound cloud remove my uploads before because I sound too much like the original I guess.

A lot of ppl won’t check it out if it’s on drop box. Just try naming your song something other than the song. Like if it were crazy trrain name it mect

That doesn't really work anymore. The audio itself gets analyzed by computer software and if it detects a melody it deems as protected it just blocks the song from appearing on the platform. It does seem to be hit or miss but the technology seems to be getting better every day and more and more platforms are using something like it. Even the streaming sites like twitch are banning people for playing copywrited music on their streams and it's all automated melody detection AI.

Now you can still upload some covers with no issues to these platforms because the music publishers have already made agreements with platforms like YouTube that allow their songs to be used in exchange for a portion of the ad revenue generated by the covers. But some publishers do not have these agreements and strictly enforce their copywrite. If you want to cover these songs legally then you must first obtain a mechanical license.

So my advice to anyone is, just try to upload the song to something like YouTube or sound cloud first and if that doesn't work then just go the dropbox route.

Here is a great article about posting cover songs to YouTube:

Jeeesh. Thanks for the info Chris. Pretty soon cover bands won’t be able to post their demo anywhere

I have to ask, was there any auto tuning or anything going on? There is a quality to the vocal im not used to hearing. Your tone and everything sounded good but ill wait for more info before going any further.

If you want evaluation of your voice why are you using auto tune? Submit it clean for evaluation

Ok, will do. thank without tuning. I will turn down the backing as well. Thanks.
