Help with reaper and x32

I’m not sure if anyone can help with this and I feel kinda dumb that I can’t figure it out on my own but I’m using an x32 rack as my interface and reaper as my daw. I’d like to be able to record my track in to it and then on another track record the vocals. I’m good there but I’d like to monitor tham as I do and I can’t figure how. Anyone have any thoughts? I know how to set up a mon mix in reaper but I can’t get it to the headphones

can you get audio from reaper into the headphones in general, does this work? so it is during recording you can't monitor? if so, you should look for an option like "auto input monitoring"/"input only monitoring". i don't use reaper but most daws have it. you can select what you hear on a track, the stuff that is on it vs the stuff going into it, and how it behaves in recording or playback.

maybe it is more likely a setting on the rack, do you have a direct hardware monitoring you can activate?

I’ve tried all the monitor settings on reaper got nothing. Watched a bunch of videos but nothing worked. The mixer has monitoring but nothing called direct monitoring like an interface would. If I go to the routing in the mixer I can switch the local outs to the card and I can hear the play back or I can switch it back to local and hear the mic but never both
