Ok so been a long while had to do some soul searching especially during pandemic, I realize my voice is great for karaoke fun but definitely was not meant for the big stage but doesn't mean can't try to have fun so here is a sample of what I've tried

    nice tone! a few notes sound a bit pitchy, or as if you take liberties with the melody. are you singing over a playback?

    Can you explain the part where the liberties are taken? Sorry just a bit confused and wanna make sure I read it right :)

    i think in the first line, then "the boys are playing", "hours", "can I do", they have some "curves" in them which seem to me like they might not be the original melody. if you practice over a playback, you will have a better chance of staying in pitch and figuring out the exact melody. you could loop a phrase of the original song and sing on top to sync up with the melody, that's how i always did it when i was doing the assignments here on the forum, when i did not have so much time to learn the whole song by heart. having said that, no one says you have to follow everything 1:1 if you don't want to!

    While singing with playback, you'll hear when your pitch matches the song as your stereo speaker and your vocal instrument (head, throat, face, chest, etc.) will vibrate as one. It will be almost as if you cannot tell one sound from the other. Your ear could be limiting this if it is not astute enough to discern. Still, you can actually feel the sympathetic resonance when you get it right. I hope this helps you.
