Seriously though is there a decent singing community online anywhere where people have conversations? I am a subscriber to KTVA and great etc but the forum is a major disappointment. Dull as dishwater.
So there is life in here 😂 So has Ken done any analysis of Jon Anderson? I mean I have seen Owner of a Lonely Heart live in 2016 on youtube and he was 72 then and singing as great asnhe wvwr has and so he must be an wxample of how to sing with correct technique?
Ken has mentioned Jon Anderson of Yes a number of times in various YouTube videos. It's usually in a video that discusses vibrato. Jon Anderson is one of the few super-talented, hi-range vocalists that uses ZERO vibrato. Because that is so unusual, for a great singer to not use ANY vibrato, his name comes up when discussing different artists and the types of vibrato that they use. Ken LOVES Yes. He has a tattoo of the "YES" logo on his arm, from when he was a teenager. With all of that said, this video posted today mentions Vocal Coach RON Anderson. Rhymes with Jon Anderson. Ken's analysis of JON Anderson is that he has an amazing range, great tone, and does NOT utilize vibrato whatsoever. RON Anderson was the one vocal coach who taught him more actual, factual vocal information than any of the dozens of others Ken studied under. Ken's knowledge is a distillation of many of the most renown vocal instructors in the world, road tested and proven. Going back to classical Bel Canto, all the way to Ronny James Dio and beyond.
What did you find when putting "ken tamplin jon anderson" in the forum and google search box?
I tried both and found nothing which surprised me and was why I posted the question in here.
Ken has done many great analysis of many great singers so I was very surprised that he had never isolated Jon Anderson vocals. Having watched The 2016 performance when he was 72 years old he has to be the ultimate best example of correct technique and how to look after your voice properly, I mean he sings as good and range is as good as it ever was (assuming he’s wasn’t using vocal backing tracks). Would love to see Ken do an isolated vocal analysis of the 2016 performance of “ Owner of a Lonely Heart” live at the Apollo. Can someone ask Ken to do this please?
