@JurajM you mean powerless compared to the actual singer? it is hard to say whether it is your impression that your voice gets weaker, or if it is actually getting weaker. if you can, record yourself in both versions (ideally with headphones so that you have your voice isolated), and compare the two tracks. that should be telling you if it is objective or subjective. to my knowledge, there is no specific video addressing this. but all of Ken's videos will help you to improve your voice in general, which will help with your issue. are you doing any of the scales?

@JurajM that's interesting. can you try and define "powerless" in this context? it is just a suspicion, so please don't be annoyed if I am totally off: it might be that you are not singing in key with the song, and this is while it sounds good on it's own but collapses with the playback. because the pitch will not be an issue if sung a capella. I am aware that "sounds good" does not equal "powerful", but you know what it's like, if you are comfortable with the sound, you also sing better, or at least less inhibited (like, for example, in the shower). which could contribute to the "power" issue.

if you could record yourself and post it here, that would obviously be the easiest way to figure out what's going on. but I think we'll be able to help you if you just describe it a bit better, too.

I've come to a conclusion that this particular song is a bit faster and since i very rarely sing with music im not able to keep up. If you want to i can do another song, i think its hard for me to adjust to the original music.

@JurajM OK I listened to it. to me, your voice does not sound different with the playback. I'm gonna ask @doc_ramadani and @HuduVudu to jump in and give us their opinion. it's funny you would say this is a faster song because I think it is rather slow, and in my experience (subjective), slower songs are usually harder to sing because the notes need to really hold and you cannot muddle your way through as in a faster song. let's see what the guys are saying!

I dont mean that it is fast in general. What i meant was that im singing it slower without any music so im not used to it.

    Hi again @JurajM,

Nadam se da je s vama u Hrvatskoj sve dobro.

For me it sounds that you should work a lot on support and breath control. You use plenty of air. You need better support and more resonance. Do you know these videos from Ken? - Do the exercises with him.

Hi @doc_ramadani everything' s fine hope it's the same in your case.

It's not that I cant produce a more resonant sound I just like my voice breathier it just feels better like it has more soul in my opinion. I dont worry about technichalities that much, music is mainly art before anything else.

    Hi Jura,

I understand. But first you have to learn great support and breath control. After we have a rock solid chest voice we can make it breathier. Without proper technique you won't succeed the long run. Sorry. I know that James Bay uses these soft tones and you want to bring in this soul. But if you want to do it healthy without ruining your voice you SHOULD WORRY about technique.
