Home GENERAL SINGING - Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy Forum

Will my different vocal styles sound right on the same album, any advice?

The current album I am working on is coming together fairly nicely however I'm a little stumped on whether or not I should put some songs on the track list due to the difference in sound and style of my voice. I'll leave some examples, thank you in advance!

Im no producer or musician. Just an honest opinion as a listener.

I had to listen to both carefully to realise they were different lyrics to begin with. There are differences in some effects you used but at first I thought they were the same song, just different production. Im not trying to belittle your music, but the difference isn't that great to me. The way you sang both were in very similar styles so I wouldn't say they would clash on the album.

In general, I like albums that have a few songs that are totally different, alot of metal and rock bands do this all the time with slower tracks or cleaner vocals. Its a cool sound you've got, I listened to music like this years ago.

    Hi @Jwal,

I also agree that they aren't different enough to seem like they would clash on the album. They are actually very similar in sound.

    Happy singing!

I think maybe these two aren't the best examples of the different styles I'm talking about they were just the only ones I've uploaded to a sharable source. Though I don't think they sound SO similar they would be mistaken for the same song lol that's kind of silly. But thanks!
