Estranged by Guns n`Roses - Cover - now and before

Hi there,

tonight I gave my "most loved song on earth" another try :)
And yes, after 2 months on Volume1 I think I can say it made a huge progress.

So this one was recorded 3 months ago... one month before KTVA... unfortunately only with mobile head phones & mic (quality is kind of bad in the low notes, sorry).
I wasn´t able to get support and pressure in the high notes (middle starting around 5:24, 6:34 and end of the song 8:20)

And this is what I recorded last night (with a studio mic). Still not perfect but on a good way.
This song means the world to me and I am so happy to be able to sing it now ... thank you so much Ken <3

Big improvements in your 2nd rendition, pitch up top is much better and much nicer brighter tone. Enjoyed your rendition don’t know the song but can clearly hear plenty of progress. Very nice vibrato looking forward to more of this, you really are in the moment with this song and very comfortable range wise.

Critique noticed at the very end you drifted off pitch a little but was very minor.

    Great job.

Yes.. I know :'( Can do that better... but did not want to sing the whole 8 minutes again song because of this. Don´t know why it happened.. I guess I was afraid at that moment to go too high... and failed it then with going a bit too low *lol

Also extra points for GNR, I'm a big fan, "Welcome to the Jungle" is my personal goal.

Yes me too (thats why I have a picture of Duff, which I painted, as profile pic :D )
Have never tried singing/recording "Welcome to the jungle" yet. This is also on my "target list" B)

Nice work! I listened to both all the way through then went back an compared those three sections you mentioned. The improvement is remarkable. I'm new here too. :) The first versions were quite hoarse and the tone didn't sound so musical. In the next version your tone was much brighter, stronger and on pitch.

There are opportunities in there to open up and project a bit more I think, but I don't know if you're intentionally choosing to sing a more...breathy whispery version.

One thing I liked in both is your emotional expression. The technical stuff is important but your clearly feeling the music and are interpreting it.

Love to hear examples of progression.

    Yes I do because...

    and are interpreting it.

    thats why

Most parts of this song are more like "whispering" and like softy/quietly talking to yourself (like said in the lyrics). So I was also really close to the mic most of the song. But I need much more progress and control of my voice and breath until I can do it the way it really should be. Don´t know how long I will have to stay in volume 1 .. at the moment I don´t find so much time :(

"Welcome to the Jungle" is my personal goal.

Well.. definetly! Tonight I couldn´t sleep (again... ) and tried "You could be mine".
Lol. Guess this one is my next goal... hopefully without the need to "copy" Axls stretched voice.

Beside of the pitch issues... A big problem for me as a non native: speaking/singing so fast in english. I can not eaven read the text that fast as Axl sings it ... so there is one part where I totally fail. Every time. Since 30 years :D:cry: And Welcome to the jungle is even worse with the text ...

Ehm.. please don´t take this cover for serious :D did this just for having a bit of fun.

And "Sweet child o´mine" this time...
Failed in the end :'( I guess again I have been afraid of some of the high notes.. became insecure and lost volume and focus because of that...
